World Wide Web: Saving an Image from the Web

You often see a graphic that you would like to saveon a web page.

		Move your cursor over the graphic.
		Windows users: Click the right mouse button. A pop-up box will appear. Macintosh users: Click and hold the mouse button. A pop-up box will appear.
		Save the image to your hard drive by selecting a Save option.
		You can accept the current file name or rename the file. (Graphic files are usually in .gif or .jpg format.)

Web pages, websites, and graphics on the Internet are all owned by the group or company that owns the site. Most hold copyrights on the material. Even though it is simple to copy a graphic, it might be illegal. Protect your company and your job by not using graphics found on other company's websites.

Place your cursor over the graphic above. Click on your right mouse button. A window will apear giving you the choice to View Image (rightclick.gif) or Save Image As .... Choose View Image. A new window in your browser will apear with the graphic in it. Click on the Back button to go back to this page.
